Mortgage Rates Rise Across the Board

Mortgage rates nudged slightly higher for the third consecutive week, but are still within the same narrow range they've been in for most of the year, according to Bankrate's weekly national survey of large lenders.

The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate increased to 6.25 percent from 6.22 percent last week. The average 15-year fixed rate mortgage popular for refinancing increased to 5.97 percent from 5.92 percent.

On larger loans, the average jumbo 30-year fixed rate grew slightly to 6.52 percent. Adjustable rate mortgages stepped-up with the average 5/1 ARM to 6.12 percent and the average one-year ARM rose to 5.97 percent. - Source: Bankrate.com

Chinese Delegation Meets With NACHI

After nearly a year of preparation by NACHI's Deanna Willis and member Bill Merrell, a Chinese delegation from the Hubei Provincial Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspections traveled to the U.S. under a special invitation from NACHI, which has had members performing inspections in Hong Kong for many years, has been helping the Chinese government with inspection and construction quality control issues.
