Foundation Donates $9,000 Worth of Smoke Detectors

NACHI Mousepad Program Takes Off

NACHI has introduced yet another valuable tool in our nationwide real estate agent marketing program. NACHI Invests $140,000 in Realtor Literature Racks

NACHI, in cooperation with member Michael Rowan, has purchased a large quantity of outdoor newspaper racks to help promote our organization and members.

The racks will be used to offer copies of the Certified Master Inspector Guides, the REAL Property Times newspaper (a NACHI publication), and other inspection-related publications. The racks and publications will be shipped to participating RE/MAX offices and other real estate offices across North America this summer. Check out Nick’s announcement here.

Mortgage Delinquencies Hit High Last Year

Late mortgage payments climbed to a 3 1/2-year high in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the percentage of payments 30 days late or more rose from 4.67 percent to 4.96 in the same time frame, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association – the worst delinquency rates since the spring of 2003, when the late-payment rate was at 4.97 percent.

The percentage of mortgages that began the foreclosure process in the fourth quarter of 2005 rose to 0.54 percent, a record high. The previous high of 0.50 percent was in the second quarter of 2002 as the economy struggled to recover from the 2001 recession.

The delinquency and foreclosure rate was much higher for sub-prime borrowers. The late-payment rate for all sub-prime loans jumped to 13.3 percent in the fourth quarter, the highest in four years. The delinquency rate for sub-prime borrowers with adjustable-rate mortgages was 14.44 percent also a four-year high.
