Gearing Up for DTV

As you may already know, television broadcasts are going all-digital in February of 2009. Unfortunately, many of your clients and associates are probably unaware of the upcoming change (including the need for a special converter box). The good news is that the U.S. government is helping with the transition by offering coupons to help offset the cost of the new converters. Read the details here.

Special Report: How Agents Can Limit Liability

In a world where litigation is the preferred method of resolving even the most minor conflicts, it should come as no surprise to real estate agents that they are increasingly finding themselves named as defendants in lawsuits.

InterNACHI’s Joe Ferry, along with Nick Gromicko, have prepared a valuable article explaining how agents can limit liability. Read it here, and feel free to share it with your agent associates!

In Case of Emergency

We don’t like to think about personal tragedies, but terrible things do happen, and it makes sense to be prepared. That’s where the Next of Kin Registry (NOKR) comes in.

The NOKR was established as a free tool for family emergencies as well as national disasters, serving as an emergency contact system to help if you or your family member is missing, injured or deceased. NOKR provides a free, proactive service to store your emergency contacts, next of kin and vital medical information that could be critical to emergency response agencies.

Simply enter your name, address and contact information. Then, enter your emergency contact information. Stored information is secure and accessible only by federal, state and local agencies that have registered with NOKR.
